Activity goals
Expoloring a new direct painting technique without a brush. Stimulating creativity and expressive freedom in children. Developing eye-hand coordination, precision in paint dosing and concentration.
Materials required
- A New Way of Painting PRIMO poster paint bottles with flow-control nozzle
- Paper sheets, cardboard, or other media such as wood, fabric, glass, clay, metal and plastic
- Varnish or fixative medium (optional for permanent results)
Activity
- Media and paint preparation: distribute the chosen media among children (different media per child are highly recommended). Provide them with a small bottle of PRIMO poster paint to begin drawing directly with the paint.
- Direct drawing with paint: while dosing the paint thanks to the correct pressing of the bottle and the flow-control nozzle, children can create lines, shapes and patterns, experimenting with relief painting (3D).
- Experimenting on different surfaces: encourage children to explore different materials such as cardboard, wood, textile or plastic to observe how the paint behaves on each surface. If desired, add a suitable paint or fixative to make the result permanent.
- Observing and sharing final works: once the drawings are finished, invite children to share their works, observing together how each creation is unique, depending on the use of paint, the applied techniques and the different surfaces.
Benefits
This activity not only introduces children to an innovative and fun painting technique, but also strengthens their ability to dose the paint and draw accurately. Drawing without a brush with A New Way of Painting PRIMO poster paint offers a unique experience, helping children experiment with different materials and express their creativity in an intuitive and accessible way.
Tips for parents and teachers
- Encourage precision: before starting, explain to children how to dose the paint, with less or more pressure on the body of the bottle to achieve thin or thick lines.
- Explore different surfaces: for a more fulfilling experience, provide children with alternative surfaces such as cardboard, wood, fabric or metal.
- Experiment with layering: invite layering of colours to create relief effects by dosing one colour within another.
Thanks to the ergonomic design of A New Way of Painting PRIMO bottles and the flow-control nozzle, the “Press and draw” activity becomes an accessible and fun experience for children of different ages, from toddlers to older children. Depending on each person's dexterity, the experience – as well as the results - can be very different. In any case, this technique stimulates creativity, allowing young artists to express their talents easily and safely. Children have the possibility to observe the paint pouring out of the nozzle and flowing on the chosen substrate, creating vibrant and unique designs. “Press and draw” is more than an art activity: it is a journey of discovery that encourages imagination and play, making each work a personal masterpiece to be shared and admired.
