Activity goals
Stimulating children's creativity and imagination. Developing eye-hand coordination and precision in paint dosing. Encouraging the discovery of colour effects specific for the Marbling technique. This is a very straightforward decoration technique that makes it possible to create simple but spectacular Marbling effects.
Materials required
- A New Way of Painting PRIMO poster paint bottles with flow-control nozzle
- Chopsticks (toothpicks, Q-tips or other sharp instruments)
- Paper sheets (preferably medium thickness)
Activity
- Paint preparation: distribute A New Way of Painting PRIMO poster paint bottles and paper sheets among children. Thanks to the flow-control nozzle and the ergonomic shape of the bottle, each child can dose the paint easily and accurately.
- Creating concentric or close-together dots of colour: start by having children pour one colour onto the center of the sheet or creating dots of the same colour close together. Gradually add one colour inside the other or next to each other to make several concentric circles or nearby wider areas of colour.
- Decorating with sharp tools: using sticks or toothpicks, children can create streaks, lines and other shapes by drawing directly on the paint dots. They can observe how the colours intertwine, resulting in spectacular marbled effects that are different each time.
- Observing results: invite children to share their creations, observing together the various shades and weaves of color, emphasizing the beauty of the uniqueness of each work.
Benefits
Children experiment with colours and can observe their transformations while developing manual dexterity, giving free rein to their imagination.
Marbling offers an engaging learning experience that stimulates artistic expression and colour sense in an original and different way.
Working on patches of colour, focusing on its transformations, allows them to approach the world of colour, even from a textural point of view.
Tips for parents and teachers
- Encourage exploration by inviting children to try different colour combinations and techniques, including using the toothpicks in various directions, performing different hand movements.
- Suggest using the results obtained as textures to make and imagine other special shapes or objects (a cloud, an autumn leaf with its veins and shades...).
- Colour experiments: explain to children how and why colors change when they mix, observing with them how the hues intertwine, resulting in truly unique patterns and effects.
PRIMO's A New Way of Painting tempera bottles offer a safe and fun experience, thanks to the dispensing spout and ergonomic handle. Turn this activity into an artistic adventure where children can discover, explore and create the magic of Marbling.
